About Us

The Melanated and Dedicated Scientist (MaD Scientist) program was founded by Eman Akam, PhD and Efi Akam, MD. It consists of a group of scientists and physicians from minoritized groups (women, Black, Latinx and people of color), on a mission to foster STEM identities in 4th-8th graders.
